    More Water

I went for a hike this morning towards a waterfall. I only went eight tenths of a mile then turned around at the baby bear. I made it back up the rather steep incline much faster than I came down it. So, I didn't get the big waterfall I was after but found some flowing water to shoot anyway. Does the water show up as purple on your monitors? It does on my TV. I kind of like the effect.

Larkspur, VERY, Very, very nice images... The first 2 images does seem to have a purple hue to them and that does not bother me in the least, in fact I think it adds to the images. Very nice series, and the ones that stand out are the ones that have the green moss on the rocks, but I really like them all. Good shooting, and I like them all.

    Wow, wow, wow larkspur.

What a great set of images, I am very jealous. Yes the first two do have a slight amount of purple, but it is fine. Probably due to the colours near the big rocks.

I wonder what the first image would look like if you lightened the rock face on the left a little. The texture might work to improve the image.

Keep up the great photo you are creating.

Beautiful work LArkspur. You have mastered the new fader filter. DId you get yours from B&H?

Thanks Don. I didn't need the fader for these shots as it was rather dark and shaded where the water was. A small aperture and low ISO was all I needed.
I bought my filter from Amazon.

    These photos are stunning.

I have a question. How do you get this effect to show the water like milk I have tried and I can't seem to get this to work for me.

I typically use a small aperture higher than f/22. A tripod is a must have/ must use with a slow shutter speed. I also either shoot on a cloudy day or very early in the morning so direct sunlight is not a factor.

Oh so the slow speed is the key, ah I was trying in normal lighting with no luck so cloudy or early morning with tripod. Will have to try again thanks for the tips on how to do this
