    Boths Rock Algonquin Park

In this image, I took this from the beach area looking up, if you notice I put an arrow showing where you can get a beautiful view of the lake from up there. This trail is 5.1 KM long and I made a couple of efforts to get up there but my knees would have nothing of climbing this hill to get to the top.

Yes I have a goal to climb this trail, but unless my knees get worse, than I will have to have surgery on them both down the road.

Looks like a steep hike. I find the down hill harder on the knees than the up hill. Unless, you just startled a baby bear. Then suddenly you forget all about your knees!

Larkspur, this is a very steep climb up there and I just could not get my knees going for long with the pain, going up is hard for me, but coming down is not an issue at all. You are right about forgetting the pain if bear showed up. Running is not the best thing to do with you see a bear as now you make yourself look like prey to the bear and he/she comes running after you. All you can do is make yourself look big and hope that the bear backs down.
