    Exclamation What Noise Software

Just for the fun of it, I wanted to asked this question about what software do you use on your images. There are a number of software companies out there now that I was curious on what others used. For me Nik Define.

Randy, did you try other noiseware programs? I also run x64 bit and wish more products support x64

    Don,

I agree with the x64 support. I just got a new computer this weekend and moved over to x64 and even installed Lightroom. I have always used Picasa for my photo management, but it doesn't do anything with RAW and quite often images are not displayed the way they should be. I hate having to switch between versions to run a plugin. :(

I tried NikDefine, NoiseNinja but have found that I like NoiseWarePro, but I am still a greenhorn at post processing. I just use the 'basics' such as and it does a pretty good job, even on my grainy photos from the Blackberry.

I did some reading awhile back and NoiseWare came out on top... Here is an article I found today.

    Noise Reduction Quality Only:
    #1 – Topaz DeNoise – 4 wins. Sequences 2, 4, 6 and 7.
    #2 tie – Noise Ninja – 2 wins. Sequences 1 and 5.
    #2 tie – Noiseware 2 wins. Sequence 3 and 8.

    NOISE SOFTWARE REVIEW
Randy, thanks for the link and very nice write up and testing information

Would have been nicer to see more products tested as well here, and more informtion on the process that was done and the sharpening to the images to me this is important to know the process steps.

I think that they all do a good job, but it`s the UI that one needs to feel comfortable with and that is the deciding factor in what we use. But I like define for the reason being is that I can pick the areas that I want to remove the noise from the image. Some of them do the total image and that is not what I want to do, and there are work arounds but define takes care of this in my view the easiest way for me.
