If I remember looking at some of Dennis' images of the longtail it did not look like this at all. I think you have another type of bird here and maybe Dennis could let us know.

Steven, first of all nice capture here, and second I have been looking for this bird for 3 weeks now, and third this is not a Longtail Duck.
What you captured here is called a Northern Pintail Duck.
