Sharper Eyes in Birds

A simple fact about birding photography if the eyes have some pop to them and nice and sharp makes for a better image. In most cases, most of us will look at the birds eyes to see how much detail and sharpness is there.

Here is a tip that I found awhile back to add a bit more sharpness to the eyes of the birds, can be used on other subjects as well.

  1. Photoshop.
  2. Lasso the eye area.
  3. Filter.
  4. Smart Filter.
  5. Now make adjustment that just makes the eye sharper not too much.
  6. Deselect, and your done, a slightly sharper eye, makes a better image.
Note: You can do your normal process, noise, sharpen etc... But just a tad more sharpen to the eyes will give them a little added punch.
