    Glen,

I went to the links you provided, and actually it sounds like there isn't a way to transfer my tags from Elements 5.0 to CS3. One of the links said that pre-existing tags (such as Family, etc.) will transfer, but not tags (such as Pine Warbler) that I created myself.

On Elements, under File, there is an option that says "Write Tag and Properties Info to Photos". I do that regularly. I wonder if those tags will transfer to CS3. Do you think you could test that by writing the tag and properties info to a single photo and then seeing if that info will transfer to CS3?

    Thanks for all your suggestions!

I tried a couple of things... assigned a Elements default type tags Family and People to a couple of images and create a new user sub tag also to a different image and tried the "Write Tag and Properties Info to Photos" and then opened the Bridge application & also in Lightroom.. and I dont see either the default tags of the user created?

    Glen,

Thanks for trying. That doesn't sound encouraging. I think I'm going to call Adobe tech support and make sure I can transfer my tags before buying CS3. I really don't want to have to tag 13,000 + photos all over again!

I'd ask them if this would work as a possible conversion work around:

    1) You Download Lightroom 2.0 beta
    2) In Lightroom you run the "File/Import from Elements"
    3) Again in Lightroom you run: "Metadata/Save Metadata to File"

The big question here is If step 2 works and imports your PSE5 tags, then Step 3 will allow you to convert the Lightroom Tags so they would now appear in Bridge.
