June 2011 - Water and Sand

Figured this month it's time to get out and enjoy the sun, not that there has been quite a lot of that around here, but it's bound to come!

Lakes, beaches, a glass of water, let your imagination go wild.

I'd like to spice things up a little but and this month I am going to pick the image I like best and send the winner off a 20.00 Tim Horton's Card and if you so live south of the border and so choose, a Dunkin' Donuts gift card that will be delivered right to your door!

My criteria? Nothing, it will just be what tickles my eye balls....

Lets get those cameras rolling.... and I'm not eligible to win, but will hopefully still post ;)

I'll start if off with a picture from my trip to Rhode Island with some water and one of my other favorites of the sandy beach trail leading to the ocean....

My favorite image of the two week period...

Hi Randy, a very good pick for this month and like this one, and you are right about the sun, been awhile now, and we seem to be on a roll of having some sun in the last week.

Now the Tim Horton's and or Dunkin' Donuts gift card was a really nice thing that you have done here Randy, thanks your very much for offering this to the members. Now I just hope you are ready to go through a ton of images this month.
I will also post that image on the front page as well of the winner that you had picked. Please pick a member and exclude me as well from the pick.

Again thanks very much for doing this, much appreciated.

Good Luck all and let's get those cameras out and start clicking.

Randy this is a very good start, and for me I really like that second image here. Your eyes start off in the foreground and right to the backgound in this shot.

Thanks for the comment on the second image Dennis. I was pleased with it when I processed the image. I think I am going to send this one for printing on canvas and hang it in my office. No worries about the gift card and thought it would "spring" some people into gear :)

Not a problem Randy and I can see why you are pleased with it and agree that this is worth getting printed on canvas. May I suggest that you clone or use the healing brush on what looks like paper in the middle and and a little up from that before you print this image. As for the gift card still a very nice gesture from you and I would love to see this area get hit with images from the members as you mentioned "would "spring" some people into gear "

I don't believe it was, I've played around with that effect, but never really tired it on any of these images. It was a 3 image HDR, processed in HDR Efex Pro then some color adjustments in PS to give it an 'older' feel. I'm glad you liked it. I have TONS of more images from the area and will post some when I'm done the editing or as I process they are on my SmugMug page.
