Probably the last one for me. B&W HDR, the color didn't quite sit right, so B&W it became :)

Randy, to be honest I really like this Black & White image, it has a nice tonal range to it.

    Hi Randy.
Hope you had a great Christmas without too much travel. I am still trying to talk my wife into visiting the area for "Old times sake", maybe spring when the white stuff is gone.
The image in black and white is appropriate. Black nights and white snow!

    Hey Roger,

It was a great Christmas, back to work for a few days and then off till January 10th. Looking forward to getting out any maybe going for a walk in the bush but it's calling for rain and +7 on Friday. Hope your Christmas was well.

    Dennis,

Thanks for the comments and it's now time to pack it all away for another year.

I fibbed... one more. Downloaded the trial software of NIK HDR Pro and this image is almost out of the box.... I like the 'retro' feel to the image. Hope you enjoy the first image out of this software! Now I see why Dennis likes it so much.

Hi Randy, before I close this thread, so you got around to getting the trial that is good news. I think that you will enjoy this software and can make up you very own stuff with it as well and that is what I really like about NIK HDR Efex Pro, plus you can run in in Photoshop as well and saves that one extra step... Not bad for right out of the box, did you know that they have profiles on there site that you can download as well? Check it out. Once you play around with this you may get hooked on the software.

The only thing I don'r like is how I get them into Photshop. I'm back to using Picasa instead of Lightroom because it's faster when I'm on the server and found it easier for Tasha and I to import photos into a central place. There is no plugin to export to PS yet for this, or one that I found. It's just an extra step where I have to OPEN PS, find the files... where photomatix I can drag and drop from Picasa. Now, that's just me being lazy :)

Randy, you need to play around with it more to understand this software on how it all would fit into your process. But you are right that what ever makes it easier for you is the best way. I`m very happy with the process of it now.
