    Wacom Tablet

I have a wireless tablet that connects via Blue-tooth to the computer. I never had any issues at all with the tablet, until the other day where I found that the tablet seemed to hesitate a lot on me, but I have to say that I got lazy and did most of my editing with the mouse, but I decided to get out of this bad habit and get back to using the tablet and this is where I found out about the problems.

Started to think about what is going on with this, so today I un-installed and installed the drivers again and the same problem. Hum what to try next? OK connect the tablet with the USB cable and see what happens, and it worked perfect with the USB cable attached, so tried the wireless again and same issues. So I had to think what changed since the last time I used the tablet, the only thing that I could think of was the Western Digital Live TV wireless which connects to the wireless router so this could not be the problem? Will guess what, I unplugged the device and the tablet in wireless mode worked like it used to... There is some sort of interference going on between the 2 devices and I think the only way is to unplug the WD TV device.

Going to have to Google this and see if anything turns up.

    Re: Wacom Tablet

Well I thought that I had this problem solved, and thought that the issue was with the WD Live TV wireless unit and as it turned out I had the same problems as before so I took the D-Link Blue-tooth device out of the USB port and I have a Linksys Blue-tooth one that I thought I would try again, since I had issues getting Win 7 to see the device, this time I got around that issue and was hoping that this would work with the Wacom wireless tablet. It did the same darn thing as well!

Plug the Wacom tablet into the USB and everything works fine, the pen does not hesitate at all. So after thinking about my next move I thought maybe to downgrade the drivers and lucky that Wacom has them listed, so I downloaded and installed, tested and that was the problem the current driver was the problem. I played around for a 1/2 hour and no hesitation at all. What a royal pain to track this down to a driver... Oh the joys of computers at times, you would thinkn that the current drivers would be fine, not in this case.

Interesting problem. When did you load the latest drivers?
One trick I picked in the IT business, write down what you are doing, so if something goes wrong, you have a path you can follow.
The systems were too large and complex to work from memory.
I still do this with my home PC.
Drivers cause more issues than anything else. I never install new drivers, I always wait.
Currently on the WD TV forums there is a lot of talk about driver problems with the last firmware, from August 2011. I have stayed away. From experience, the rule of thuimb is "if it ain't broke...don't fix it"

Sometimes that is a good to remember, that is you remember to do it... I did not think even for a second about the driver, but it took some digging into the memory banks to trace it back. When I was working I would always make notes of what I did, but for home is different for some reason I guess I don't do that many updates on my PC. Yes Don, drivers can sure make you pull your hair out, but the good thing is that I was able to download an older driver.

I think that I ill start making notes in the future, and the WD TV I have not updated that at this time.

I'm not one for Installing new drivers unless i'm having a problem with the olds , why try to fix something that ain't broke has always been my motto.
