For those of you just starting out with photography it is good to play around with the new camera and have some fun. Read the manual for your camera and get to know what all the buttons and settings all do, sure you won't understand it all, but use Google it's your friend really. I always suggest to those that are new to photography and their new camera is to take it off program mode "P". Use the Aperture or Shutter modes, as this will give you much more control of your camera. In program ...

    by , February 10th, 2011 at 10:21 AM (Admin's Blogs)
OK, I have been trying to setup my calibration device and calibrate the 500mm lens with the Nikon D300S, but the problem is that it is so cold outside for one and that is the only place that I can do this with decent lighting.

So I setup the tripod outside and choose a target from another building in the area, and if I got cold I could head inside and warm up. What I found was a small adjustment on the calibration makes a big difference to the image quality. I ran some initial test ...

First of all, let me say that this is not my idea but ideas from a couple of friends that I know.

A couple of friends that I know have been working on creating there own calibration tool. I don't have the measurements of this but I'm sure that by looking at the image you will be able to figure all this out very easy.

  5. Cheap Method Lens Calibration

    by , December 27th, 2010 at 11:06 AM (Admin's Blogs)
Have you ever checked that your camera and lens are calibrated properly?

Even though your images look sharp to you, you should always check to make sure your gear is calibrated to the optimal. You have all that nice expensive gear, and you have never checked to see if in fact that your lens is either back focusing or front focusing and why not? Hey it does not take long to check this out at all, and in fact you might just be surprised that your gear is out by a bit and if not at least ...
